WAY and SIDA: Building Regional Networks for Women

Between 2014 and 2016, WAY led the Women Policy Centre HEYA

Between 2014 and 2016, WAY led the Women Policy Centre HEYA project in partnership with five regional organizations and with funding from SIDA. The project aimed to increase women’s participation in public life across Lebanon and the MENA region.

HEYA trained women advocates, supported policy discussions, and built a network of women leaders across the region. Participants worked on gender-sensitive policy proposals and presented their work to decision-makers in their countries.

The project produced a set of policy recommendations that were submitted to national governments in partner countries. It also created a lasting network of women leaders who continue to collaborate beyond the project period.

WAY’s role as lead organization in HEYA strengthened our capacity for regional coordination and demonstrated our ability to manage complex, multi-country programs.
