Who we are, what we do and why we do it

About us

Who we are

Women-Adult-Youth (WAY) is a Lebanese non-profit organization founded in 2009 and officially registered with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior under registration number 2283/2009. For over 15 years, we have been a dedicated force for positive social change in Lebanon and the broader MENA region, working closely with vulnerable communities, especially women and youth, to build a more equitable and sustainable future.

Today, WAY operates from Tripoli, Lebanon, with a dynamic network of 800+ community members and partnerships spanning regional and international organizations. We are more than an NGO; we are a movement committed to human dignity, social justice, and the unwavering potential of every individual to create meaningful change in their communities.

Our story

In 2009, a group of passionate community leaders came together in Tripoli with a shared vision: to create a space where women and young people could access the tools, knowledge, and networks they needed to thrive.
What started as a small initiative quickly grew into a recognized organization working on capacity-building, peacebuilding, and social cohesion across Lebanon and the region. Over the years, WAY has implemented more than 10 major projects funded by international donors, reaching thousands of beneficiaries in communities across Tripoli, Beirut, and beyond.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission:

Our mission is to improve the living conditions of impoverished communities, particularly women and youth, by addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality through community-based action.

Our Vision:

Our vision is a Lebanon where every individual, regardless of gender, age, or background, has access to the resources, opportunities, and freedoms necessary to live with dignity and contribute to a just and peaceful society.

Our values

WAY’s work is guided by four core values that shape every decision we make and every project we undertake.

Human Dignity

We believe that every person deserves to live with respect, free from discrimination and injustice.

Social Justice

We are committed to equity and fairness, ensuring that those who have been marginalized have equal access to opportunities and resources.

Critical Reflection

We promote a culture of learning and questioning, encouraging communities to think critically about the structures that perpetuate inequality and to envision new possibilities for change.

Solidarity

We recognize that progress is a collective effort, and we stand in partnership with communities, donors, and organizations who share our vision of a better world.
